Ellen, Bryan, Megan & Kyle welcome you to our website.
This month of the website unfortunately brings very sad news -- Karl-Heinz,
after his long battle with prostate cancer, passed away on 11/28/2003.
We held a nice memorial and reception for him down in Los Angeles and many of the people who were dear to him attended.
It was really good to hear a lot of the nice stories about Karl-Heinz and what he meant to so many people.
He will be missed.
Karl-Heinz had asked that his ashes be scattered in the ocean.
Betti, Susan, Bryan, Simon, Ellen, Megan, Kyle, and Fran were all able to get together and send him on his way.
We scattered the ashes and then spread roses in the water and said our good-byes.
Here are a few photos from our outing.
We unfortunately don't have a lot of pictures of the memorial,
but here's a shot of our good friend Gilbert playing a wonderful and very touching performance on his saw.
Ellen's birthday was a while ago, but since her sister's brithday is close to Ellen's, here are the two birthday girls sharing some cheesecake.
Halloween has happened since last time as well. Here are Megan and Kyle all dressed up and ready to make a killing out in the neighborhood.
Kyle's soccer team managed to win the Kick-or-Treat tournament, which meant not only trophies but the "coveted" 1st place T-shirts.
Since the hilbrichters weren't going to be home for Christmas, we opened a few presents early.
For Christmas, the Hilbrichters zipped up to Park City to join Susan, Simon and Betti with some skiing.
The group photo was unfortunately taken on a very "steep" slope and some of us couldn't stay upright, but we figured it out in the end.
We enjoyed a wonderful British Christmas, complete with Yorkshire Pudding (thanks Simon), and poppers.
We even learned about wearing our hats until the queen spoke.
On the way home, Ellen decided to do some landscape photography. Here's a sampling of her work on the Nevada landscape.
